Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer

... has debuted:

  • Three villains again? How'd that work out in Spider-Man 3?
  • The Rhino is basically an Iron Man-esque exoskeleton?
  • Electro's powers look more like the Living Laser's.
  • Nice Adolf Hitler hairstyle on Harry Osborn.
  • Were Parker's parents ever an important storyline in the pages of Amazing?
  • Get a glimpse of what's to come? Doc Ock's tentacles and Vulture's wings?

I also noticed the similarities between number 3 and this movie. Looks like it might be trying to cram way too much into one film. I'll see it, but I'm not sure about this one. The Vulture's wings and Ock's tentacles give me a Sinister Six vibe.

And Peter's parents SHIELD agents who were killed by the communist Red Skull in Algeria. apart from the occasional storyline, they didn't feature much, if at all.

His parents were SHIELD agents?? Ye gad ...

Yes, I think they were retconned into being SHIELD agents at some point. I think. I could be wrong.

I've been debating whether or not I should write a post on this... Perhaps. I'm really not a fan of the special effects. It looks like something off a Playstation. This might be a case where I like the mystery that's explored during the course of the film, but sort of hate the action scenes because the effects are so cheesy.

Hey, Hube, guess who's writing the screenplay for Amazing Spider-Man 2? Roberto Orci, of "Star Trek into Darkness" fame.

Oh Lord. God help us.

Apparently he was hired to "polish up" the script. I just hope that "polishing up" doesn't mean adding 9-11 conspiracy theories to the script, but given his track record, I'm skeptical that he'll be able to contain himself.

Oh, and he'll be writing the third film, too.

Confirmed: yes, they were SHIELD and CIA agents in the comics, killed by the communist Red Skull, Albert Malik.

In the Ultimate Universe (which I never really cared for) they were apparently scientists who died in a plane crash, just like in the first ASM movie.
