Diminishing by degrees and decrees

Recently on Facebook, Don Viti asked me where the "paranoia" about gun confiscation was coming from. I pointed him to a few article/sites but he never responded because well, my fears are well founded and they conflict with THE NARRATIVETM.

Here's Obama pandering as hard as he can to gun owners a few years ago:

And here he is Joe Biden tacking back to the way he always planned to govern:

Frankly I'm thrilled that Obama has made 100,000 new NRA members. Please issue an executive order banning semiautomatic guns. Please. I would love to watch the blue state Congressmen squirm as they either keep their careers alive by speaking out against it or go over the cliff and support their party. I assure you the latter would be extremely unlikely unless they were going to retire anyway.

The GOP, if they were smart, would submit a bill reaffirming that the 2nd Amendment is not about hunting but about the right of citizens to be secure in their persons and defend themselves from a tyrannical government. Luckily for the Democrats, they're not that smart.

Good. I'm glad the NRA has more members. Been thinking about doing some firearms training myself recently. I figure it couldn't hurt.

The government wants to regulate stupidity. A deranged lunatic shoots up a school/movie theatre, etc. they want to ban all guns. Fat people die of heart attacks, etc. they want to ban sodas and fast food.

Sounds simple and moronic, well thats the way the politicians thinks. Personally, i dont care if they ban assult weapons. I don't see the need for those guns for the general public. Are they fun to shoot, sure. But my Sig or Walther or 32 rifle will do the same thing should someone come into my house. Granted I would have to have ammo for them, assemble them and unlock them from the safe, but you get the point.

My issue is this. The bottle of booze on the shelf is just as deadly as the car in the garage as the gun in the safe. They arent. Until some stupid person decides diffferently.

When i got my license my dad said "you are in control of a 2 ton deadly weapon." Anything can be a weapon. How many suicides have been casued via internet bullying? Ban the internet!

I think I'm gonna join the NRA as well ... and I haven't shot a gun since my Weeblo days back in the mid-70s.

It's an idea I've had for a while. And I have a pellet rifle that I've used for target practice in the past, shooting at pop cans and the like in the backyard. I'd like to move up to the real thing.

What's the saying? "It's not paranoia when they really are out to get you."

I think that certainly applies here. The usual suspects are out in force trying to ban guns, ban internet sales of ammo, etc. etc.

Donviti can call it paranoia. I call it intelligence. When a bunch of people who have long histories of supporting (by words AND actions) the violation of 2A rights start blabbering about gun control again I take notice.

We have at least two (D) pols who came out this week and flat out said "we want to confiscate your guns." and the author of the AWB has said the same in the past.
