Star Trek Into Darkness extended trailer

The Japanese got the corner on the extension, for what it's worth:

This looks pretty damn good. I have to admit the scene where they press their hands against the glass reminds me of Wrath of Khan.... I think it'd be too soon to kill off a character in this new universe.

Who do you think the villain is? I'm thinking it could be Gary Mitchell.

Could be either. Khan certainly doesn't have to be Asian (or whatever he was supposed to be in TOS) given this alternate reality. And I don't believe there's anything suggesting massive telekinetic powers a la Mitchell in the trailer (a guy on FB said the destruction was caused by such, but I don't see it). But what we do see is the bad guy fighting hand-to-hand. Why would a near-omnipotent Mitchell do that?

Good point. I did hear the villain described as a "one-man weapon" somewhere though. Can't remember where. Also, I think Khan was supposed to be Sikh.

Wouldn't Khan still have to be Sikh (or whatever we was)? The diversion in the timeline took place during Jim Kirk's lifetime (barely). Khan (as originally devised) was from the 1990s.

Or they could just retcon the whole thing.
