I agree with you... too many comedians are afraid of "offending" people these days. Although as for sitcoms, "The Big Bang Theory" is actually pretty funny and isn't very politically correct at all.

I tried BBT a couple times but found it too formulaic. Didn't appeal to me. But I know many who enjoy it.

Yeah, I enjoy it myself. Psych is a great show... although it's more of a detective/comedy show than an outright comedy. It is by no means politically correct, either, but it's managed to survive for seven seasons.

By the way, didn't MASH start to become less of a sitcom and more of a drama after the fifth season?

Pretty much, yeah ... I dropped it after Frank Burns left which was season 6 IIRC ...

Also, I think that's around the time they started to give Alan Alda more creative control. I could be wrong though.
