To quote Instapundit ...

... "this feels wrong" (Insty link here):

The California man behind a crudely produced anti-Islamic video that has inflamed parts of the Middle East was arrested Thursday for violating terms of his probation, authorities said.

[The filmmaker] has been on probation for a 2010 federal check fraud conviction that brought a 21-month prison sentence. Under terms of his probation, he was not to use computers or the Internet for five years without approval from his probation officer…

A U.S. District Court hearing was scheduled for [him] on Thursday afternoon. It was closed to media and the public.

'Ya think if George W. Bush's DOJ investigated a dude who, say, put up parody of American troops torturing Iraqi civilians and then was subsequently arrested on a parole violation ... that the mainstream media would ignore it? No, neither do I.

Meanwhile, "Piss Christ" is on display this week in Manhattan. No word yet on whether the Boss Obama administration will produce a commercial for Manhattanites (like it did for Pakistan for the YouTube video) urging them to remain calm in the face of this blasphemous disgrace, and reminding them that the administration "had nothing to do with it."

UPDATE: The inimitable Hans Bader thrashes the Boss Obama administration for its handling of the YouTube video/Islamist riots in an aptly titled post, "Scapegoating Free Speech." An excerpt:

The Obama administration has not advocated criminalizing speech against Islam. But at the United Nations, it has argued in favor of civil liability for speech that incites “discrimination” or “hostility” to Islam, based on the false assumption that civil liability is less subject to First Amendment limits. (The Supreme Court’s Hess and Brandenburg decisions protect even speech that incites violence or legal violations unless the speech intends and is likely to cause imminent lawless action. The Administration is apparently unaware of, or does not agree with, federal appeals court rulings that apply those decisions to bar civil liability for speech that incites “discrimination.”)

To this, I point to this recent post of mine. Because it explains the Boss Obama mindset to a tee.
