Well, isn't that special

New Castle County (DE) Register of Wills Ciro Poppiti III thanks Occupy Delaware for its -- *YAWN* -- "symbolism":

I cannot remember anyone being grateful for their presence. Because no one said “thank you.”

I think it is time I did.

I don’t agree with everything Occupy Delaware stands for nor do I agree with all of their protest tactics. I do, however, appreciate their anger.

Every morning for the past nine months, Occupy Delaware has been in my face. They have reminded me that, as an elected official, I took an oath to protect the public trust. As such, I have an obligation to act with integrity and honesty, rather than gaming the system to my own benefit and to the benefit of those who can help me politically. Thank you, Occupy Delaware, for that wonderful reminder.

Now, I wonder if Poppiti ever wrote a similar "thank you" to the Tea Party which stands for everything he wrote above??

The Tea Party wasn't nearly as "angry" as the Occupy movement (despite what the mainstream press said) -- didn't have the minutest fraction of arrests nor cause the slightest fraction of disruptions that the Occupiers did -- preferring to work more within the system. Don't they deserve a "thank you" op-ed from an elected official, too? Or is that anathema for Poppiti because he is a Democrat (he was New Castle County Democrats' vice chair), part of the one-party system that has plagued Delaware for a couple decades now?

Is this a joke? What about: thank you for the trash you left everywhere? The crimes you all committed. . .

Occupy DE has been a lot better than its other state counterparts behavior-wise, to be fair, N.O.
