The world goes crazy

Via the Tuscon Citizen (not the Tuscon Illegal Alien) via The Corner:

A delegation of nine state legislators from Sonora (Mexico) was in Tucson on Tuesday to say Arizona’s new employer sanctions law will have a devastating effect on the Mexican state.

At a news conference, the legislators said Sonora – Arizona’s southern neighbor, made up of mostly small towns – cannot handle the demand for housing, jobs and schools it will face as illegal Mexican workers here return to their hometowns without jobs or money.

To say these legislators have balls is an understatement, because it takes really BIG balls to come to the US and demand that we continue to allow illegal immigrants to continue to cross the border and work, etc. Really big balls.

“'How can they pass a law like this?' asked Mexican Rep. Leticia Amparano Gamez, who represents Nogales." Real simple, ma'am. With a bill, votes, and a governor's signature. It's called "law and order," something not very well known in your own country. You ought to work on it a bit harder.

But that ain't all. Mexican Prez Felipe Calderón is also bitching:

Mexican President Felipe Calderon accused the United States on Thursday of dumping criminals at the border because it is cheaper than prosecuting them, and said the practice has fueled violence in Mexico's border areas.

"There are many factors in the violence that is being experienced in some Mexican border cities, but one of those is that the American authorities have gotten into the habit of simply deporting 60 (thousand) or 70,000 migrants per year to cities like Ciudad Juarez or Tijuana," Calderon told an immigration conference.

Yeah, well, that's usually what you do when you catch people illegally crossing the border there, El Presidente. And why the hell should we spend our taxpayer money when these folks are your responsibility in the first place?

Among these deportees "there are many who really are criminals, who have committed some crime and it is simply cheaper to leave them on the Mexican side of the border than to prosecute them, as they should do, to see whether they are guilty or not," Calderon said.

Hel-LO?? The fact that they entered the US illegally in the first place makes them guilty, you idiot. That's why they're taken back to the border.

Yeesh, with a brain trust like Mexico has leading them, it's no wonder they're spiraling into the abyss ...
