Laugher of the Day

"Geezer" commenting over at the LGOMB:

If we thought like right-wingers, we could use this [Norway] horror as an excuse to round up all the right-wingers and put them in cages in Gitmo without explanation or charges. Because, y’know, they’re all potential terrorists.

Except, of course, that the very left-wing site on which "Geezer" comments advocates doing that very thing to conservatives -- but even worse. It advocates killing them.

Just. Like. The. Norwegian terrorist.

RELATED: Can the Left Resist the Temptation to Exploit the Norway Attacks? As Insty says, "The answer is 'no.' Next question."

Hey, you blame every terror attack on the "conservative right-wing" -- directly or indirectly -- eventually one will actually stick. Y'know, stopped clock and all ...

Well, evidently this guy was some kind of Nazi, so this ain't that stopped clock moment. The only right position I credit Nazis with inhabiting is the one called "slightly to the right of Trotskyists". My question is, how many times do leftists high-five each other every time this kind of massacre occurs?

Actually, I've read the dude was very pro-Israel. Doesn't seem compatible with being a Nazi.

He describes himself as a moderate Nazi. If you took the anti-Jewish elements out of Nazism and left everything else, would that make a Nazi a right-winger?

"Moderate Nazi?" That just sounds absurd.

I read that on Stacy McCain's blog so its second-hand, but yeah he is supposed to have said there are "moderate Nazis" the implication seemingly being that he either is one or is not one. Either way, once you get past the nationalism and militarism, and the social traditionalist philosophy that tends to look with a wary eye against ALL foreigners (not just illegal ones) and minorities, there is very little about Nazis that counts as conservative, now or then.

The original National Socialist Party was a big spending party. Any entreaties to keep government small and rein in spending, taxes, and regulations and to let the private sector have freedom to invest and build the economy would have been a foreign ideology to them. Saying that to a Nazi back in the day would have probably got you a one-way ticket to Baden-Baden, especially if you added to it talk about individual rights, liberties, and responsibilities. No, once you get past the differences in nationalism and anti-immigrant/minority sentiments, Nazis had and have a lot more in common with today's leftist parties than they do conservatives. Comparing them to the Tea Party is just outright blatant nonsense.

Sister Toldjah asked:

What global white/Christian terrorist network trained Tim McVeigh? How many instances can you point to where white Christians have trained to only fly but not land a plane? How many white Christian terror cells/plots have been busted up worldwide? What white Christian churches across the US and other countries provide safe havens and planning areas for white Christian terrorists? Who is the OBL equivalent amongst white Christian terrorists around the world?

Well, I'm sure that her questions are all racist and Islamophobic, so they don't count.

If you express outrage or grief at this tragedy to a leftist, they take it as a sign of weakness and go for the jugular. I won't play the game with them. They're welcome to think what they want. I owe no apologies or explanations to any leftist over the actions of any individual, or for that matter any group.
