Guess the political party

CPS: Lawmaker owes $500,000 in back rent, taxes is the headline at the Chicago Breaking News Center.

State Rep. Monique Davis owes the Chicago Board of Education close to $500,000 in rent, back taxes and fines for a South Side building she has been using rent-free as a legislative office for 7 years, according to a report from the school system's inspector general.

The school district has taken legal action against the long-time Chicago legislator, suing her for $83,737.35, according to court documents filed in November. The district is not seeking compensation for property taxes and associated fees. The Illinois attorney general's office has filed an appearance to represent Davis but did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

No mention what political party Davis belongs to. No wonder.

It does identify her as a Democrat. Did you miss the mention, or was it added to the article later?

Nels: Must've been added later, 'cuz I combed the article pretty thoroughly. Or, of course, maybe not as thoroughly as I thought! ;-) Always a possibility.
