She's a professor!

Check out this comment from Carol M. Swain, a professor of political science and law at Vanderbilt University, regarding the recent apology for slavery by the US Senate:

"The Republican Party needed to do it. It would have shed that racist scab on the party."

Unbelievable. Swain just might wanna check out the origins of the GOP. And more currently, didn't this resolution pass unanimously?

Actually, every Republican should have abstained from voting on the bill, leaving it to the Party of Slavery & Jim Crow to apologize for its misdeeds.

it passed on a voice vote in a nearly empty room,
if anyone of the congresscritters had stood up and asked for a roll-call, the bill would have died on the spot, tabled to prevetn any one member from having to actually support it.
