Yet another reason ...

... why Steve Newton is the best blogger in the First State today.

I understand his point, but he gets the particulars wrong in this paragraph.

"Lots of Israelis and American Jews are vehemently opposed to President Obama's foreign policy, to the point that the Israeli press is daily calling him anti-Semitic and cabinet ministers are threatening to mobilize Jewish voters in America to target swing Congressional districts in 2010."

What Israeli newspapers? Of the main ones, Ha'aretz - the NYT of Israel for better but mostly for worse - no doubt supports Obama's approach. The Jerusalem Post is probably somewhat more skeptical than than Ha'aretz, but unless some op-ed columnist called the President's policies "antisemitic" I can't see that characterization there. (Even Caroline Glick who's vehemently opposed to the policies explained why they were bad but never characterized them as antisemitic.

And for heaven's sakes one minister without portfolio made a comment about American Jews not supporting Obama, but that's hardly suggestive of a campaign.

SD: Would it surprise you that probably the biggest area of disagreement between Steve and I regards Israel? ;-)

Still, I stand by my claim that he is our state's best blogger. By far, actually.

No I'm not surprised. But don't be surprised if I think there's at least one better 1st stater out there blogging.
