Just imagine if Limbaugh, Beck, et. al. ...

... had said something similar about one of the Obama daughters. Or any other Democrat's young daughter.

Just one more reason I gave up watching David Letterman years ago: Dave's "classy" joke about 14-year old Willow Palin.

I thought children were off the table. Liberal hypocrisy.

Did Dave REALLY know it was her 14-year-old daughter? He didn't mention the girl's age in the joke. Letterman has joke writers. I think it's safe to assume that he was joking about the known-promiscuous daughter, the 18-year-old Bristol. Even though the 14-year-old was the one on the trip with Sarah, Dave said on his show the jokes weren't about the 14-year-old daughter. It would be irrelevant because the 14-year-old hasn't been the one in the news! He was clearly joking about the 18-year-old. I think any discriminating viewer could see that.

Palin and First Dude's feigned outrage (and THEN insinuation that Letterman is a pedophile) is the real joke here.

You're as bad as the MSNBCers, Mike. Blaming Palin for what was a totally tasteless joke.

Again -- look at the title of the post. Dispute it if you will; you'll be wrong about it -- again. I know such "jokes" don't bother you either way. But again, the MSM views such only ONE WAY.

No, Hube, I would have had an issue if Letterman REALLY was referring to her 14-year-old daughter. Anyone with half-a-brain could obviously realize the joke was on her ONCE PREGNANT daughter, the fully-legal 18-year-old. Would the MSM get bent out of shape had it been the Obamas' young daughters? Of course. The media got PO'ed with right-wingers when they referred to Chelsea Clinton as a dog 15 years ago. However, it's clear that Bristol Palin is over 18 and, quite frankly, she's fair game. She's put herself on talk shows and she's put herself out there for jokes and criticism.

The Palins are the morons here because they intentionally twisted a joke and USED their 14-year-old so they could then IMPLY that Letterman is a pedophile. They're pathetic.

It was feigned outrage, pure and simple.

Thanks for confirming what I said, Mike. I know you're an equal opportunity offender, but frankly, you're as disgusting as the MSM and, frankly, Letterman on this.

WILLOW was the one at the game, so why in the f*** is it so hard to understand this supposed "twisting?"

Brian Shields actually provided a better defense on DL than I did here. Comody relies on "the known." People KNOW about the 18-year-old, so they most likely "got" the joke as it was referring to the 18-year-old (which, I believe, is what Letterman and his writers were inferring.) So, I think it's only fair for one to look at the INTENT of the joke. Anyone with a superficial knowledge of the circumstance should be able to see the INTENT of the joke wasn't to impugn the 14-year-old. Was it in poor taste? Sure, but the Palins' to-be-predicted classless response just shows them for the tools that they are. I mean, really, calling Letterman a pedophile?

I'll take dodo Biden and his unfiltered tongue over that trainwreck Palin and her trashy brood any day. Palin Derangement Syndrome? You bet!

I wasn't offended when they called Chelsea a dog (well, I wasn't offended THEN considering I was only about 10 or 11) and I'm not offended at the joke about Palin's daughter 18-YEAR-OLD daughter. Because, though you and the rest of the indignant Righties may not agree, the joke WAS about the 18-year-old, even though it was the 14-year-old in NYC.

Sorry I'm just a "disgusting" person for not understanding how people can misinterpret a really dumb joke.

Mike: Yeah, uh-huh. Whatever. Maybe this is as disgusting as mentioning "chowing down on aborted babies," eh?

Back to the original issue -- the MSM was defending Letterman whereas if it was ANYONE on the right making a joke that was even remotely like Letterman's, they'd be skewered relentlessly. Hell, just look at the reaction to O'Reilly's fairly tame comments about Helen Thomas a few months back.
