First place in the Council category was Joshuapundit with The Afghanistan Blues. (Colossus finished in 2nd with this post.)
First place in the non-Council category was American Thinker with How the Academic Left Elected Obama.

"How the Academic Left Elected Obama" -- totally bogus; let me tell you why, in my opinion.
Here are the demographics of the Obama victory:

If you choose the "size according to the share of the electorate" radiobutton, you will see that one could choose any of a number of demographics, then make an ideologically speculative argument to explain the outcome.
For example, I could have chosen women voters, voters under age 59, urban and suburban voters, voters having HS education and higher, or Catholic voters, then made a speculative case for any one of these demographics.
Therefore, Paul Kengor's thesis is not unique, is speculative, is specious, therefore unconvincing, therefore bogus!
