A warning from the Angry Left

... or maybe a prescient statement from the upcoming Obama "civilian police force." From the Newsbusters e-mail tipline which goes to many contributors, not just me:

Our school will be tracking your anti-American racism. Our school teaches tolerance; we'll be watching to see if your site pivots to finally show some.

Instead of attacking an idea which is nothing more than a proposal at this point, why not wait to see what the contents of the proposal is when it is seriously presented to Congress? The idea follows from JFK's ideas to encourage youth to participate in community service, therefore why not have some options available?

Aside from the military, what service from citizens has Bush encouraged, except to advise us to go out and shop?

Here is the kicker from this author: "In his entire life, Senator Obama has never managed an organization larger than a Senate staff, or that of a law school publication."

I suppose managing a campaign that succeeded in defeating the Clintons and the entrenched Republicans doesn't count!

Besides, what does this have to do with the topic of the piece, except that the author felt compelled to throw in a dig that turns out to be ineffectual except to the base? Useless!!!

Let's wait until he gets a chance to manage the Executive Branch faced with the huge mess created by Bush et al.

Um, Perry -- would you be concerned if Bush had mentioned something about a "national civilian police force" say, after 9/11 and in conjunction w/the Patriot Act? Answer: Yes you would. I would too. Would you also find it disconcerting if wingnuts sent messages like the one seen here? Answer: Yes you would.

Interesting quote from the article:

"People of all ages, stations, and skills will be asked to serve."

I have some useful skills, I'm still fit, and I'd love to continue to serve my country, but it may be too late for me. I've already been trained how to serve, protect, investigate, and to kill people efficiently, but I've never been taught how to hate. I suppose I'll have to rely on the expertise of the liberal Democrats to provide that component.
