I don't doubt the data, but I do think there is an explanation that needs to be considered.

Anyone who has followed this campaign would be hard pressed to deny that McCain's campaign has been predominately negative, and Obama's positive. This difference will be reflected in the media coverage, as I believe we see in these data.

One demonstration of McCain's negativity and outright falsehoods is well documented on the Media Matters web site.

That's a terrific "explanation," Perry. Since the McCain camp is mostly negative, therefore an "objective" news organization should ALSO be negative. Are you serious??

As a counter to the left-wing Media Matters, there is always the Media Research Center and it's watchdog arm Newsbusters.

Let me state it another way, Hube. As positive as Obama's campaign has been, even the data on Fox shows a significant positive response, probably mainly from their news people, certainly not their editorialists of the Hannity/O'Rielly ilk. Moreover, I would certainly be the last to claim impartiality re the MSNBC bunch, Matthews, Olbermann, and Maddow, though I think these three are a step above Hannity/O'Rielly in terms of focusing on facts rather than fictions.

Perry: Your last comment just shows that you don't even WATCH Fox. O'Reilly covers both sides, and Hannity has Colmes as a counter. Olbermann and Maddow, in particular, have NO ONE on hardly EVER who runs counter to their views. (Maddow has had a few meager instances that I recall; Olbermann NEVER does.)

Nice try, though.

'Mostly negative campaign'???????????? Someone who has suckled to the teat of msm could only come up with that...

Obama has the luxury of running a positive campaign, because the mainstream media is doing all of his negative campaigning for him.
