How can you live with yourself, parte dos

From the Campaign Spot:

After releasing this morning’s numbers showing McCain ahead in Ohio and Florida, the Strategic Vision polling company received several death threats through the contact e-mail on the company’s web site.

David Johnson, the CEO of Strategic Vision, shared the messages with National Review Online.

One of the messages stated:

My goodness, your polls stinks. There are 3 polls that have Obama by double digits and only yours has Obama down. WOW!. How come your poll is the only one giving Palin high favor ratings? I think you need to be careful tonight when you get in your car and might want to check underneath your car. SCRAP YOUR IDIOTIC POLLS OR ELSE!

Other e-mails included "colorful" phrases like "Be careful going outside tonight because you might not see tomorrow," and "Smart guys wind up dead."

The company has contacted the FBI.

These hateful and disgusting incidents are happening so often that I really think that any honorable and moral person, no matter if they are a diehard liberal or Democrat, cannot vote for Obama lest they be branded by incidents like this for all eternity. How can you align yourself with someone who would actually threaten someone's life because they dared to report on a poll that had John McCain leading in two battleground states? How can you align yourself with someone who would put a bomb in someone's car merely because of good news for McCain?

How can you sleep at night?

Holy crap. I just don't get it.

As Bill Ayers' Weather Underground buddy Mark Rudd once said, "When you believe you have the moral high ground, you can do some terrible things."

"It's probably just a couple of nut cases..." as per the NRO article.

Shall we make a federal case out of some people at the McCain-Palin rallies calling Obama a Communist? Well yes, because Sarah Palin herself has publicly made that very accusation!

You folks are desperate and will say (or do?) anything, like rig the elections again in several key battleground states like you folks did in 2004. No wonder McCain is so sure he is going to win!

Well, well, well -- the truth comes out finally. Perry is officially a total and complete MOONBAT, in line with the illustrious Liz Allen. Rig the 2004 election? Let it all hang out, Perry -- what's next? 9/11 an inside job? Moon landing a hoax?

BTW, Perry -- this post, like my last similar one, is a satire of DelDem's post from over at DE Liberal in which he wrote precisely what I copied from him (the last paragraph) about Republicans. He wrote it based on what a few McCain-supporting loons had apparently said (or did), and as such ALL GOPers are somehow exactly the same.

But you wouldn't know that since your phony "objective" self only cares about the misdeeds on the right. Why don't you go over to DE Liberal Perry and chastise them for this kind of talk? I know why you don't -- you implicitly support that nonsense, that's why. You're a pathetic hypocrite, and now it's been shown a total and utter MOONBAT too, by your comments that election 2004 was stolen by the GOP.

Break out the lithium, pal.

Only one problem, Perry -- calling someone a Communist (especially when they espouse key elements of Marxism) is not a crime. Threatening someone with death is.

Communist? Like what, Rhymes? You know as well as I that you folks use it as a pejorative buzzword, just like some attribute fascism to Cheney-Bush. This is all used instead of focusing on specific issues, and debating/discussing them. Its called the politics of personal demonization, promoted by the Lee Atwater/Karl Rove campaign tacticians; we've seen a lot of this in the pathetic McCain-Palin campaign. Interestingly, it does not appear to be as effective this time, as it was in 1988, 2000 and 2004. The issues have taken precedence, thankfully.

Redistribution of wealth -- "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need"

And while I won't go so far as to call the slimy SOB a Communist, I will gladly and unapologetically call him both a socialist and a Marxist.

But thank you for making my point for me -- the "fascist" rhetoric of you left-wing tools over the last eight years was not criminal, and neither is calling Obama a Communist based upon much more substantial evidence. Especially since those making the "fascist" accusation have faced not one bit of government retaliation -- if Bush were truly a fascist, they would have long since been arrested and possibly liquidated.

Obama, however, has already promised to redistribute the money we make in a "more just" manner -- which is straight out of The Communist manifesto.

And you still haven't dealt with the big point -- death threats, especially those communicated through the mail or via electronic means, are a crime.

While I believe the full accounting of the activities of loons on the left and right (or even paying them much heed) is a silly waste of time, I'd be interested to see you make such an accounting.

In addition to plenty of lawn effigies, death threats against ACORN, "Sit Down, Boy" remarks, etc, we now have a white supremacist plot to kill Obama. It won't be the last such plot down the stretch, and through January at least if Obama is elected.

On the "redistribution" front: conservatives fail to understand that most liberals are just like them. The difference is only in the anger over where the tax dollars are being spent. Liberals, for instance, dislike paying for new prisons, and for petty drug dealers to live on the state's dime for years, with no effort to rehabilitate them. Liberals dislike tax dollars being "redistributed" to big corporations and oil companies. We dislike deficits, unlike liberals of yore. But mostly we dislike tax dollars being used for touchy-feely, pie-in-the-sky efforts to build a Shiny Happy Middle East; to rebuild the infrastructure of a country most Americans couldn't give two shits about, while that country sits on a pile of its own cash. In short, the far right has become as muchy-headed as it claims the far-left is. That is the corner we've been painted into by a failed ideology, and the proponents of said ideology have no one to blame for the upcoming elector losses but themselves.

There have been plots to kill EVERY president. It's a bigger deal this time because of WHO it is.

Well said, FH!
