How can you live with yourself?

These hateful and disgusting incidents are happening so often that I really think that any honorable and moral person, no matter if they are a diehard liberal or Democrat, cannot vote for Obama lest they be branded by incidents like this for all eternity. How can you align yourself with someone who would actually carve Barack's first initial into the face of a supporter of John McCain? How can you align yourself with someone who would vandalize a fellow human being merely because another person wants to vote for McCain?

How can you sleep at night?

UPDATE: It's been proven a hoax. I conceded as much immediately over at DE Politics where John Feroce wrote about the "incident." My post here, as Joe M. noted in the comments, is a satire on the asininity that is DelawareDem.

Thanks to commenter "dan" for the breaking news!

UPDATE 2: Still waiting for acknowledgment of the faux story by "people" like DelawareDem regarding the "Kill him!" (Barack Obama) shouts at that PA Palin rally.

Should I wait for hell to freeze over first?

UPDATE 3: If this had happened on the other side, the hoax maker and his/her supporters would be clamoring that it "didn't matter" whether the attack actually happened or not -- the important thing is to point out how "violent and disparaging" the GOP and conservatives are during campaigns.

UPDATE 4: Marvel at how the MSM -- which showed virtually no interest in the story at the onset -- is now headlining it now that is proven to be a hoax. CNN and AOL were two that I saw late this afternoon.

A few of the gospel type stations that were playing in my co-workers' offices today stated it was a hoax and that the woman never worked for the McCain campaign...uh huh...My bumpersticker stays despite all the preparations for the coronation in Chicago. I pray the October surprise is that he really ISN'T an American Citizen afterall...A girl can dream can't she?

There are snippets of some howard stern 'man on the street' interviews going around on email. they went into harlem to ask who they were voting for. everyone said obama. they then asked them if they had any problem with him being elected and having a woman vice president - no they didnt. they then asked are you ok that he is pro life - yes they were. basically, they had no idea what his campaign was about. will his win be one based on ignorance?

If he wins it will be based on ignorance and the dumbing down of america yes, but a big if...I am hoping that the great 'silent majority' that doesn't talk to pollsters rises up and restores sanity to the political process...Experience alone gets it for the republicans... these are dangerous times in which we don't need in bidens words 'on the job training' for a president. Check out anne coulter's site linked through drudge about how the polls have gotten it wrong since carter...always lessening republican outcomes and always offering huge democratic leads ..check it out.

You're welcome.

After speaking with Pgh Police officials last night, I was going to post here that some of the local news reports were (to be generous) irresponsible, and that I'd strongly suggest waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Well, it's dropping this morning. The police say there are "inconsistencies." She suddenly "remembered" that she was sexually assaulted. Her webpages are suspicious. Not to mention the very neat, backwards B.

Actually, conservatives seem to be out in front with the suspicions. Check Malkin's lead story at the moment.

dan: As I mentioned, this is more of a take-off on DD's post over at Del. Liberal. Over at DE Politics, I clearly mentioned that this could be a hoax. John Feroce over there actually pulled his original post so as to wait for verification. The backwards "B," however, doesn't make it so since the attacker could have scratched it from a reverse "over top" position.

So, where are your links to these police stories?

Posted by: Hube at October 24, 2008 01:30 PM

Yah, I got the zinger.

Malkin's story has good stuff (you know her URL). Locally, a TV reporter has a good roundup here. The newspaper story w/ the official police comments to date is here.

You're right about the backwards B not being conclusive. But there's a veritable mountain of inconsistencies -- from a lack of evidence of the ATM transaction, to the fact that it's seroiusly doubtful there could've been no witnesses at that particular corner at that hour. Her mobile blog updates on her "Twitter" page oddly seems to foreshadow trouble by saying she's ended up on the "wrong side of Pittsburgh." But that busy business district -- primarily Italian restaurants and grocers, bars, etc -- probably wouldn't give most people such a feeling.

Done deal -- she made it up.

Posted by: dan at October 24, 2008 02:09 PM

Most of the conservative blogs I follow were very wary of this story. Yesterday, HotAir even said that it should not be made into a big thing; that the alleged attacker needed help.

I wonder how the Kosmonuts and Sullivans would have handled it had the situation been reversed? Or is Sullivan still hoping to get samples of Palin's ambiotic fluid?

Geez, don't you all feel like DUPES now lol

Posted by: Ryan Mc. at October 24, 2008 10:10 PM

Yeah Ryan -- especially considering that we ALL warned about the possible hoax. Go over to DL and tell them the same, why don't 'ya. Oh, that's right -- you're just like 'em.
