... but never doubt for second that The Messiah thinks he's a "regular" American. Cheeyeah, right. Here's what he told a group at Planned Parenthood last year:
The one thing that I want to insist on is that, as I travel around the country, the American people are a decent people. Now they get confused sometimes. You know, they listen to the wrong talk radio shows or watch the wrong TV networks, um, but they’re, they’re basically decent, they’re basically sound.
Get it? You're "confused" if you listen to talk radio and watch Fox. You're still OK, mind you, but you need the guidance of The Messiah, Barack Obama. Only he can peel you from your "clinging" to guns, religion and whatnot.
(Via The Corner.)
if you want to hear some great talk radio and has all the facts on the Messiah, take some time to listen from 9-12 midnight - Tara Servatius - on WBT 1110 AM in Charlotte, NC. I get it in very clearly every night. She is tremendous. Does her homework and I'm sure the Messiah would say she is so WRONG....
Posted by: Annie at September 17, 2008 07:46 PMAnother on here intent to misuse the religious term "Messiah" for political purposes. This is an insult to all Christians, all for imagined partisan political gain. Pitiful!
Obama has retracted that "bitter" statement, saying that he used a poor choice of words. But you partisans will not let it go, because you are desperate and chose to "cling" to it.
There are plenty of equivalent or worse gaffes from McCain, but the Dems, once mentioned a few times, let it go, like I will do again just now.
You people use these attacks to distract from the Republican record (over 90% with Bush) that McCain has adopted, then he struggles to present himself as the maverick he once was years ago.
The latest is that he is now for regulation of the financial industry, whereas a few days ago he was against it, consistent with his long record being against regulation. And now we are also supposed to believe he is the agent of change. McCain, on the issues, is just one mixed message after another, one flip-flop after another, one big reason why he is going to lose in November! There are many more reasons!!!
Posted by: Perry Hood at September 18, 2008 12:19 PMAnyone who uses this "Messiah" pejoratively identifies himself/herself as a Rush Limbaugh addict, because that is exactly the origin of it, typical of the Rush Limbaugh approach to the extreme partisan politics of demonization and division.
Posted by: Perry Hood at September 18, 2008 12:21 PMPerry: The Left should have little hassle w/the use of the term "Messiah" since they're pretty much all atheists, agnostics and heathen anyway. Like you, Perry?
And awwwwwwww... McCain has worse gaffes? Well, he's old (like you) and that he can use as an excuse (like you should) -- so what's Obama's excuse? Face it -- you've latched onto the most pitifully inexperienced candidate in American history.
Posted by: Hube at September 18, 2008 12:37 PMPerry, it's Obama and his supporters who've cast him as the second coming of the messiah.
Obama's the one who said that if elected he'll create heaven on Earth!
Why do you have so much hate in your heart for Rush Limbaugh?
Obama's continued to use the same sentiments with different language for his bitter comments, and he didn't know he was being taped when he said it.
Posted by: BadIdeaGuy at September 18, 2008 12:46 PMBadIdeaGuy, I've not heard any of this, so I suspect you're making it up.
It is you folks who choose to use the Messiah moniker for Obama, an insult to all Christians.
I believe Rush started it, and those who use it consistently, like Hube here, identify themselves therefore as Rush disciples.
I listen to Rush to get the talking points of the day, have for years. In my view, the man exudes continual hatred for all those not in agreement with him. His mantra then spills over to others, corrupting, contaminating and polarizing our political arena, for which I hold him accountable, and others of course, some on my side of the aisle too. We should not pay attention to these unbalanced people.
Posted by: Perry Hood at September 19, 2008 09:05 AMI had posted that you lack a sense of humor and satire, Perry; your comment to B.I.G. proves it again.
You do not speak for all Christians, Perry. And how do you know Rush started it when you don't even listen to him? Or did you get that from Daily Kos or DE Liberal, hypocrite? I'll use your "tactics" and merely state "you made that up."
If you don't like me or anyone else using "The Messiah," then the solution is quite simple: Stay away.
