Did I just hear New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin say ...

... that if any residents decide to remain when Hurricane Gustav hits, "they're on their own"?? How heartless! How cruel! How inhumane!

Now, imagine if George Bush had said it ...

UPDATE: Check out this Nagin quote: “This is the mother of all storms, and I’m not sure we’ve seen anything like it.”

Um, did'ja forget this, Mr. Mayor?

My wife got a laugh out of his statement that looters "will be sent straight to Angola."

She wondered how many folks around the country would think he meant the one in Africa, not the Louisiana State Penitentiary.

If you were Nagin, what would you say to get people to evacuate?

Come on! He is doing the responsible thing to save lives.

Are you purposely acting dumb again, Perry?
