Public announcement: August 27 Veterans Forum Location Changed

DOVER ~ The location of the Veterans Forum organized by veteran Dave Skocik for gubernatorial candidate Bill Lee has been changed to the Noble Eagle Family Restaurant (formerly Sorentinos) at 518 S. Bay Road, Dover, on Wednesday, August 27, from 6 to 9 p.m.

The meeting will be open to veterans who wish to comment on issues affecting them. Those unable to travel to Dover for the forum can e-mail questions or concerns to, or call Lee campaign headquarters at 302-260-9206.

The event grew out of some of the issues identified in The Delaware Plan and from feedback directly from veterans to Bill Lee, a Marine Corps veteran.

The agenda will include property and income tax issues as they affect veterans; state hiring practices; contract set asides for veteran contractors; educational benefits that would extend to family members; the veterans home; and a number of other issues that have been the source of inquiries from veterans.

The floor will be open to give and take on all issues during the three-hour dialogue. Call 302-260-9206 for more information.

That's good - Bill Lee is seeking input from our veterans. Perhaps, if elected, he intends to take better care of them than the draft-dodger pair, Cheney/Bush. That said, I do not understand why Bill Lee so far has not participated in the debates. Is he afraid of Mike Protack?

The first part is pure partisan Perry poppycock.

The second is Lee being smart as Protack isn't worth ANY opponent's time or energy. Lee will win a walk.
