How could this guy forget his call for socialized medicine in Delaware? It may not have come up at that particular forum, I guess.

Although, I will side with Mike on the need for a property tax reassessment. People in the same neighborhood can pay completely different taxes as the system stands now. Fairness should compel us to do so.

Why would a "conservative" want to do away with school referenda? Why would a "conservative" want to make the state one big school district? I thought conservatives believed in local control over that of a big, centralized, top-down overseer.

Hube, if I wasn't clear, I was agreeing with this video (aside from the disagreement about reassessment). I was merely reminding people of Protack's past support for socialized welfare.

Oh, I know, Paul. I'm sorry if *I* wasn't clear! My last comments weren't directed at you, personally. :-)

You know California has a 1% real estate tax and it is paid annually and calculated using the the last sale price for a property.

It seems that many states could consider that or some variation. I know it does not address "re-assessments" but on a go-forward basis it makes things more equitable and does not force seniors to move from their lifelong home due to increasing real estate taxes.

Read today's News Journal to see Protack go to the far left of Bill Lee's illegal immigration flub.

After calling for the arrest of all illegals, he now volunteers to school the children of illegals at the Latino debate.

I think he just says whatever his audience wants to hear, and since he can't possibly get elected, he knows he won't have to back it up.

You missed the facts again. We propose a reassessment as the current ones which are 25+ years old.

We also propose a commensurate deduction in the rate to match any increase in reassessment. No tax increase.

As for the misinformed on the referendum, you can't consolidate school districts from 19- 4 and keep the old referendum system, it is impossible. Are you supporting keeping too many districts?

We support putting Principals who are the ultimate local control in charge of their schools. Now they have 8% control of their budget, we support Vision 2015 which changes that control in favor of students and not bureaucrats.

Delacare is not socialized medicine, you clearly are misinformed. One large risk pool with choice and competition is not socialized at all. I will debate anyone on that subject even Lee who gets his health care from a single payer program at taxpayer expense.

Again, try facts or try to get Lee to debate.
