Chutzpah Alert

Nancy Pelosi on President Bush:

"God bless him, bless his heart, president of the United States -- a total failure, losing all credibility with the American people on the economy, on the war, on energy, you name the subject."

In the meantime, "Congressional Approval Falls to Single Digits for First Time Ever." Yep. NINE percent. President Bush's approval is 33%, almost four times higher than Congress's.

Who's a "failure" again, Botox-head?

Ms. Pelosi,
The American people have given congress, which you lead, an even lower approval rating than they gave President Bush.
In addition, 76% of the American people want to start offshore drilling asap, but you keep blocking it. Did you forget that you
are merely an elected representative, who is supposed to carry out the will of the people. Did you forget that the United States
of America is a democracy.

First of all, where the hell do you get the 33% number approval for Shrub? I've seen nothing near that high in years for the "total failure." Most polls have Dubya between 22% and 26%, basically what's left of the Kool Aid drinkers like yourself. Second, the reason Congress is so unpopular you idiot is that Americans are pissed because Congress hasn't done what we sent them there to do, namely end the war in Iraq, bring up Impeachment chages against Shrub and put a stop to the rest of the thugs on the right. Had they done those things, Americans would overwhelmingly approve of Congress. You boneheads on the right irritate me to no end.

Ah, Gina, hate to burst your bubble, but America is not and never has been a Democracy. We are what you call a Republic and in a Republic, the rights of the minority are protected against the tyranny of the majority. That being said, where is your source for 76% of the people want offshore drilling? And why are you so easily duped into believing that offshore drilling will do anything? It will take 30 years at best to get any of that oil to market, assuming there is enough to make it worthwhile. You people on the right believe anything that Shrub and his ilk say, what a bunch of morons. I love to laugh at all of you, all of you.

LOL, Kelly. Kool Aid drinker indeed. *Yawn*

The 33% figure is at that same Rasmussen link in the right-hand margin of their page. Its figure for Bush is even more recent than the Congress %. Here is the direct link.

Hopefully, w/your intellect, you'll know how to point and click.

The Speaker says, “Free Our Oil!” Sounds great. How about we recognize the fact that we need to free our oil that is known to be captive under unleased land. The Dems love to say 68 million acres, blah, blah, blah. . .the oil companies are not drilling, blah, blah… Face it Ms P, you’re a dope if you don’t realize that oil is not under many millions of those leased lands–the oil companies have done the work, they know that. Much of that land has no production future. Lets free our oil in the proven fields which the Dems have held hostage for more than 20 years. I am also stunned that the rating of congress is so. . . .high. May if go off the cliff, hit zero. Send the Dems packing in November.

Forty years of a Liberal culture in this Country has produced politicians like Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Dick Durban, Barney Frank, Charles Schumer. These political representatives forty years ago would be on trial in this country for treason and contempt.

An example of this Liberal mindset and behavior will follow this posted comment with a great deal of hate and distain.

Could it possibly be that Congress's approval rating is so low because they refuse to do what we put them in power to do and that was to IMPEACH George Bush and Dick Cheney and end their charade of a presidency once and for all!!!!!

I and many others are incredibly tired of all the rhetoric. We're tired of hearing why he cannot be impeached because it's a waste of time. It wasn't a waste of time to impeach Clinton.

As for Speaker Pelosi's stance on drilling in protected land, I agree with her as do millions of smart people who realize this is just a tactic to swindle the American people out of what is rightfully theirs. Everyone with half a brain knows that opening these new areas to drilling will have absolutely zero impact on current prices of oil or gas. It's just more smokescreen to protect the oil speculators from ever having to be accountable for what they are doing to drive the prices sky high.

Here's an idea for you neocon republicans...do you want to retain any power come this November because despite your clever rhetoric, you're going to lose full control of two of three branches of government for the first time in 8 years. The only chance your people have of winning anything and preserving any power at all is if you immediately close the Enron loophole on oil speculation which will cause an overnight drop in the price of a barrel of oil by $60. It will cause an immediate reversal of our economy. Do this, and you might actually preserve some of your representation in Congress. When the price of oil drops by $60 a barrel, you'll be seen as heroes who made it all happen. Your approval will sky rocket.

[note: I love all the people who latched on to this point that Congress's approval rating is so low so it's the fault of the democrats. Really? Really? Is it the fault of the democrats? Or is it the fault of the Republicans in the Congress that continue to side with the ever-troubling policies of this failed presidency that will go down in history as the worst presidency in the history of our nation, worse than Nixon even. Is it the fault of the Republicans who continue to thwart all efforts to improve this nation under draconian illegal rule for the past 8 years? Today, apparently 21 or more Republicans went against the President and voted to override his veto of the Health Care bill he's been fighting. These are people who are finally getting it. Bravo to them. Bravo to people that have their own mind and can vote according to the will of their constituents rather than that of the Executive Branch--which isn't in the business of making law, only enforcing it. But, don't get me started on the topic of separation of powers and the three branches of government we USED to enjoy.

I am tired of hearing Americans argue with each other by taking a Democrat / Republican side. We are nothing by puppets for the machine.

Please, quit arguing based on a politcal party. Both parties suck. Pelosi sucks as much as Bush. Both are ineffective.

Neither Obama nor McCain will be effective either. Time to put our differences aside people. Let's quit calling each other stupid or calling ourselves smart.

Quit representing the Dems or the Repubs and start coming together, understanding each other and working together.

99% of our current politicians NEED TO GO. There is no quick fix here and if we are to fix it, we will have to start working together.

I think Pelosi should take a look in the mirror to see a total failure. I recall her stating over and over again to the media how the Democrats, if they gained control of Congress, would change direction, would enact legislation, and/or "would get things done". Looking at their 100 day agenda, they have accomplished virtually nothing. Yet she has the nerve to go on television and criticize others. That is the favorite tactic of a failure...comment on others and hope no one realizes how ineffective you are.

Nancy Pelosi is like the Joker in drag...This woman needs to realize that she is NOT the president now nor will she ever be. She does everything she can to try to place blame on everyone but herself for her own failures as speaker of the house. Just like during the interview with Wolf Blitzer when he caught her off guard by asking her if she was afraid that things might come back to prove her wrong she instantly had a haughty look on her face rather than to have even one ounce of genuine concern...She doesn't care about anyone BUT herself!!!!....Get this female snake out of office NOW!...Before she does anymore damage than she has already done.

I am so sick and tired of these do nothing elected officials in Washington blaming each other for their own failures. You swore on a Bible to support and defend the U.S.A. in every way possible, now we are in an energy war and the U.S. needs it to survive until we find another way that we can afford and not be slaves to other countries! Get off your asses and do what you are elected to do, and stop blaming everyone else but yourselves.

Posted by: jharris at July 18, 2008 08:59 AM

NANCY PELOSI IS A TOTAL FAILURE
according to 87% of Americans.
Don't expect the democrats to respect democracy,
after all Hillary won the popular vote in the primaries ...
and Michigan and Florida votes weren't even counted.
Obama even won state office on technicalities. When
you're a democrat ... who needs votes?

Posted by: Gina at July 18, 2008 10:45 AM

You liberals need to realize that the reason why we are in this energy crunch is because of your favorite Pres Bill Clinton. He inacted the ban on drilling off shore and in ANWAR, if he didnt we would already be reaping the rewards of the drilling. For you guys who think that drilling will not solve the engery crisis you need to go back to high school and take a economy class. Its a basic theroy that all 7 year olds know, if you increase supply then price falls. Duh, its simple, pelosi is a typical socialist dumbocrate that needs to go. And for you who think it will take 30 yrs to reap the rewards of our drilling, read a book. The oil companies will have the newly drilled oil within the market within two years, modern technology is quick and clean. Congress let us drill in ANWAR and off the coast to protect our economy and our pocket books.

Hube:

I am offering a $500 reward to the first person who can get me a legitimate copy of Pelosi's SAT scores. I will match the $500 with a gift to the winner's favorite charity.

This is a legit offer.
