Good idea? M.L.B. to try instant replay

Every other major sports league has it to one degree or another, so why not baseball?

I know one team in particular that wished it existed 23 years ago... (That's for my buddy/commenter "cardinals fan.")

uggghhhh....I remember it all to vividly...had the newspaper photo of the bad call on my desk at college all year long....ranks as one of the all time worst calls in major league play as a result of its horrific impact on a championship. argh...

Given that we now have computers that can analyze a strike or ball, why do we not use them instead of umpires. Also, immediately fire any umpire who says to "my strike zone is..."

as a former pitcher, that is part of the game within the game, adjusting to a umpire's strike zone, first of all figuring it out as a pitcher and batter, then trying to use it to your advantage during the game. Gotta keep the human element in it for balls and strikes. But for homeruns - instant replay away.
