What liberal media, again?

"It’s 'hard to stay objective' when covering Obama," says NBC reporter.

Damn dog bites man again.

Hube - MSM has become so predictable it is getting to be laughable. And to laugh is good for us.

I used to laugh, but seeing the manipulation of this election by mass media, it is now getting dangerous.

From your perspective the media may seem liberal. From my perspective they look conservative. I am afraid it has become "big business" and as big business, it shows us only the view of the election it wants us to see.

It's time to start bustin' up monopolies. And not just in the media.

kavips: I've no problem whatsoever with "breaking up" the media. However, there's some problems with your theory, mainly that the Internet Age has decreased the influence of the big media "monopoly" immensely. The "big business" as you state, has been floundering, especially those that are (rightly) perceived as left-leaning. The NY Times. MSNBC. Etc. Fox News may be "big business," but you need to ask yourself why its growth and success has been so phenomenal. You can hem and haw and posit any reason you wish; the real reason is that it is the first "big" media outlet to actually cover -- and consider -- the conservative viewpoint seriously. And the public recognizes this. It isn't rocket science.

Which brings me back to NBC, specifically MSNBC, from last night's primary coverage. After McCain's victory speech, the crew at MSNBC -- Matthews, Olbermann, Mike Barnacle among others -- openly mocked the speech which included their raucous laughter. Olbermann offered a "funny" faux apology. Only Matthews spoke up in McCain's defense, reminding everyone how he has battled and battled, and has always fought -- including his 5 years as a POW. But even he actually chuckled at the end. The same Chris Matthews who swore to viewers that Hillary Clinton's tears the other "were genuine." How does he know?

That's the thing -- these guys are entitled to their opinion, but they need to make sure they tell people that. And they should feel free to feel that McCain's speech sucked, but to openly and derisively mock it -- with laughter -- is over the line. I sure didn't see any of that from Chris Matthews or Brit Hume over at Fox.
