9/11 Truther nut-jobs

The History Channel has an excellent program on the 9/11 conspiracy movement. It not only provides info on the various nutty ideas behind the "conspiracy," but also examines the psyche of conspiratorialists. In a nutshell, that psyche is "they KNOW the truth" and everyone and everything else is either dead wrong or in on the conspiracy.

I didn't see local DE 9/11 Truther moonbat Liz Allen on the show, but I bet she sure wishes she got some camera time!

Have you ever pondered the irony of conspiracy theorists who are atheists? They cling to their theories harder than any fundamentalist on far less evidence.

Great point, Duff!!

The History Channel documentary was actually pretty poor. It was for people that did not know anything about 9/11 to begin with.

Hube writes, "In a nutshell, that psyche is "they KNOW the truth."

No, the attitude of the 9/11 Truth Movement is that we do not know the entire truth and we should. We know enough to know that there are serious problems with the governments story. The people who believe the governments story are the ones who claim that we already know everything about 9/11, so why bother to investigate.

- What caused WTC7 to collapse?

- Why weren't any of the planes intercepted?

- Who supposedly funded the terrorist/hijackers?

- Why was Philip Zelikow chosen to be the Executive Director 911 Commission?

- Why does the FBI not list Osama for being wanted in the 9/11 attack? etc...

You know (well, actually, you obviously do not) that there are quite rational explanations for your points. This issue has been the most thoroughly investigated matter this side of the JFK assassination. As the History Channel show pointed out, you and those like you actually fit the evidence to suit your preconceived beliefs, which usually means "the government is evil incarnate."

Also, as the H.C. show pointed out, to just consider the total # of people needed to be involved in the 9/11 "plot" is immense -- and then to consider that NOT A SINGLE PERSON involved in the "plot" was moral and ethical enough to expose the "plot" (way before 9/11, too) is just irrational in the extreme. And, I'll add myself, beyond lunacy.

Yes, there are quite rational explanations for those questions. WTC7 was brought down via controlled demolition. None of the planes were intercepted because they needed to make sure that the targets were hit.

Regarding the founding of the terrorist/hijackers the 9/11 Commission states,

"To date, the U.S. government has not been able to determine the origin of the money used for the 9/11 attacks. Ultimately the question is of little practical significance."

The FBI does not list OBL for being wanted in the attacks because they have no "hard evidence" he was involved.

Did you know the Apollo moon landings never happened either, tanabear? There's "great" evidence that "proves" this, too you know.

What most people don't know is that McKinley had the USS Maine torpedoed in Havana Harbor to justify his illegal pre-emptive war with Spain. If it weren't for him, Dick Cheney wouldn't be able to cut the heads off innocent Saudi tourists at Guantanamo Bay. See, it all makes sense!
