The sad thing is that I'm smart enough to know there is no right answer for the first question. The Pilgrims landed in 1620, the American Revolution took place over several years and started in 1775, Washington became president in 1789, and the US constitution was written in 1787. 1776 is probably best known for the writing of the Declaration of Independence, but that isn't on the list.
