BREAKING: Pelosi Unilaterally Ends Iraq War

Declares beginning of Iraq Situation.

Over at The Corner:

Nancy Pelosi just told Brit Hume that the war in Iraq is "not a war to be won but a situation to be solved."

Just great. If you don't think of it as a war, it takes the sting out of losing.

This is what I -- and many others -- were afraid of. I'm sure she views the war on terror similarly. This is what happened in the 90s and look what we sowed.

I guess Madam Pelosi is looking to the solution of the Korean situation for inspiration. Oh wait, Korea was a police action.

With its robust agenda, hopefully the Democrat Congress will find time to address domestic concerns such as the Situation on Drugs. I also hope they will take steps to strengthen our military in case Iran developes nukes and declares situation on us.

On an unrelated note, "The Great Escape" is one of my favorite World Situation II movies.

Word on the street is that Madam Pelosi will ignore Jane Harman for chairmanship of the House Intel Committee in favor of (impeached former federal judge) Alcee Hastings because he's black and she's a tiny bit too "hawkish" for Pelosi's tastes. If this pans out, it will be a glaring red flag indicator of the true priorities of a Dem-led Congress. (And by red flag I mean Jiang Qing/Gang of Four-type red flags with yellow stars on them.) Liberal theology will rule all aspects of governance, complete with quotas, ideological purity tests and banishments "down to the countryside" for bad elements.
