Dopey local political line of the week

I guess when you got no shot, you have nothing to lose by uttering stupid lines like this:

"I go talk to people here, and I find that very few people know who he is. The only ones who do know him are in Dover."

This is from 7th representative district Democrat challenger Carl Colantuono, about House Majority Leader Wayne Smith.

How would I know that this utterance is nonsense? 'Cause as noted here, I've assisted in Smith's campaigns over the years, and the only people I've encountered in the 7th district (during my numerous journeys of "lit drops") who didn't know who Wayne is were people who had just moved in from other states. Wayne must wear out ten pairs of shoes during the months preceding an election, as he visits all the homes in his district. And if you doubt the power of Wayne's campaign's organizational prowess, one need look no further than his five-way primary win in 1990, and most recently his victory against longtime House incumbent Dave Brady after redistricting.

Colantuono's comment is just desperate drivel.

Oh, yeah, and we all know who Carl Colantuono is. Riiight.

Seriously, Smith is the House Majority Leader, one of the most important and prominent state legislators. Anyone who hasn't heard of him has their head in the sand.

OK...his comment is idotic, but I don't think most Delawareans (outside the 7th, anyway) know who Smith is, 'Kid. It's like a Jaywalking (Leno) skit. If I went out and asked 30 of my friends who he was, I don't think a quarter of them would know. He ain't exactly Dick Cheney (though I'm sure he'd like to be).

His comments are purely idiotic nonsense from a political amateur who has no chance in heck to get even close to smith. I read the article today and just laughed at how insane it was. Doesn't smith also have weekly or monthly coffees that constituents get his ear and a free cup of joe?! But hey, he (caluotano?) represents the democratic party, so do you really expect anything less that attack comments based on zero facts! The dem's and the liberal media rely on an ignorant and unattentive population, and, unfortunately, they got it with many americans (both legal and illegal!).
