It was not "egregious" to have The Virgin Mary covered in Cow Dung. It was not "egregious" to have the Jesus on the Cross put into a jar of Urine. Could you imagine the outcry of the Muslims if that is what had gone on. Maybe they Danish papers should have put these out during Ramadon.

Yes, Mara Liasson's comment was stunning. I can't believe the panel allowed her to suggest there was a parity between the publishing of CARTOONS and the carnage engaged in by affronted Muslims. Oh and just when I thought the day couldn't get more fun - An Iranian newspaper is running a Holocaust cartoon contest (which really isn't different than any other day of the week!) My Ashkenazi ancestors are sobbing in heaven. But I am just plain angered and disgusted here on earth!

You might consider me a "liberal" because of many of my views. However, I find the violent actions against Danish and Norwegian embassies deplorable, and the various other threats to be in COMPLETE disproportion to the publishing of a CARTOON.
