Osama bin Laden according to the Associated Press: "Exiled Saudi dissident."
Y'know, sort of like "Adolph Hitler: 'Disgruntled German politician.'"
What liberal media indeed.

Posted by: Tatu at January 19, 2006 07:16 PMAre we sure this is not a Bush planted story to give us the idea that the war on terror is working and the big guy Osama is desparate for a truce?
What a perfect diversion form the LOBBYSCAM K Street jam.
Or Sheikh Yassin spiritual leader of Hamas.
Posted by: David Gerstman at January 20, 2006 01:47 AMLovely analogy! Made me giggle.
Posted by: Bronwen at January 20, 2006 07:41 AMGood catch! The AP has been the most liberal of all MSM, IMHO. Where do they get the weenies who write this crap?? I figure, Columbia, Brown, BU, Penn, George Washington and maybe some other Ivies.
Posted by: AJ Lynch at January 20, 2006 09:11 AMI understand why this reference is ridiculous. But what makes it "liberal?"
Posted by: at January 20, 2006 01:17 PMBush said we were not interested in catching him anymore. Does that make Bush a liberal.
Posted by: jason at January 20, 2006 01:34 PMCongratulations, Rhodey, you just godwinned this thread in the initial post - a new world record!
Posted by: at January 20, 2006 02:04 PMAre you for real? You have entire TV networks devoted to getting the GOP message out and tweo words in an AP story is proof of a liberal media.
Posted by: Anon at January 20, 2006 04:32 PMHey scourge -- you really are thick, aren't you? We know it's you -- the last "anon." Somewhere traveling....
ROTFLMAO!!!
Posted by: Hube at January 20, 2006 04:53 PMThe thing is though, to be fair, the photo is from 1998 - and that is stated in the caption. The caption should have been reworded, but keep in mind that if Michelle Malkin or others had read that caption in April 1998, then no one would have bothered pointing out this flaw. The caption was probably trying to effect a past-time contextual reference, which of course appears naively anachronistic in the present.
