The way to get free liquor

Answer: Turn homeless.

Via Reuters: "Giving homeless alcoholics a regular supply of booze may improve their health and their behavior, the Canadian Medical Association Journal said in a study published on Tuesday."

Rumor has it that many college students plan on "becoming regular homeless" on weekends.

This, medicall, socially, and psychologically, is isteresting. And wrong. Although I'd have to read the study before calling the people who conducted it total dipshits, I feel relatively comfortable doing it intitally here.

Wow. I was so drunk when I got home last night. Or this morning. Or whenever I wrote that.

Vive Winter Break! I'm going to Canada where the science is soft and the booze is free! Yay Canada!

Don't you mean so drunk when you got homeLESS last night?

There is one thing to consider though. Alcohol is not a drug you drop cold turkey. Denying an alcoholic liquor can have profound effects on brain chemistry. It can cause deadly seizures or psychotic episodes. This might explain why so many homeless people have mental health problems.

Is the solution to give all the drunks their rum ration? Of course not. But if they are in a program to wean themselves off the bottle, then this isn't a bad idea.

I heard a bit more on this study; they gave the subjects wine or sherry, which is admittedly healthier than sterno or brake fluid or whatever else they may have been drinking on the street.
