The leftists over at Air America seem to think that if a left winger had uttered the inanities that Pat Robertson did, "it would have been everywhere!"
Earth to A.A.: Robertson was covered everywhere. Check it out:
What's more, former Clinton advisor George Stephanapoulis once advocated the exact thing as Robertson, albeit against a head of state a bit more familiar to Amercians:
Fresh from his influential White House post, Stephanopoulos devoted an entire column in Newsweek to the topic of whether the U.S. should take out Saddam Hussein. His headline? "Why We Should Kill Saddam."
"Assassination may be Clinton's best option," the future "This Week" host urged. "If we can kill Saddam, we should."
Does anyone recall a press firestorm over George's "heinous" comments? Not me!
UPDATE (10:20am): Whoa -- Stephanapoulis also used the "terrorist" label to describe ... a U.S. senator.
Yes, the not so new tactic of libby dem's claiming there is no liberal tilt in the media, but rather a conservative tilt!!!!!!!!!!!! I do believe this is one of the reasons why there is a cons. Pres. and Republican controlled Congress....not to mention the fact that there are no new ideas coming from the dems. other than attack, attack, attack or this won't work because... without any real serious alternatives...and yet their solution is to go even farther to the left with Dean as head of party........I do believe a sheeeshh is in order here!
Posted by: cardinals fan at August 27, 2005 07:11 PMAs I said on the radio, I don't have a problem with most people advocating the assassination of a foreign leader. My problem with Robertson doing it is that he poses as a RELIGIOUS leader, specifically a Christian one. As a fellow Christian, I have a major problem with one of our leaders advocating murder, if only for the propaganda value this has to radical Muslims.
